What Does the Bible Say About Bearing Fruit?
What Does the Bible Say About Bearing Fruit?
There are things that cannot be faked.
You can create an image. You can appear confident, kind, and “put together.”
But deep down, a person often knows the truth —
is there real depth in their life?
Jesus once said:
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you… that you should go and bear fruit” (John 15:16).
He wasn’t talking about religion.
He was talking about a life that is truly changed from the inside.
The Bible compares a person to a tree.
A tree doesn’t explain what it is — it shows it by its fruit.
In the same way, a person’s life becomes visible over time.
“By their fruits you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:16).
There is a story that still feels surprising even today.
Jesus comes to a tree full of leaves —
it looks alive, healthy, complete.
But it has no fruit.
Everything looks right…
but inside, it’s empty.
Doesn’t this sometimes reflect our own lives?
We can build a life, achieve things, connect with people, smile —
and still feel emptiness, anxiety, or a lack of true peace inside.
The Bible says the problem isn’t external.
Real life begins within.
And that is exactly what Jesus offers.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…” (Galatians 5:22)
These are not qualities you can simply “turn on.”
They are the result of a new life that begins when a person encounters God.
🙌 What does this mean for you?
Maybe you’ve already tried many things to feel fullness in life.
But the question remains the same:
Is there peace inside you?
Is there real joy?
Is there stability when life gets hard?
Jesus doesn’t just offer you to “become better.”
He offers you a new beginning — from within.
God is not looking for perfect people.
He is looking for those who are willing to be real.
And the good news is:
you don’t have to change yourself first to come to God.
You come to Him as you are —
and He begins to change you from the inside.
Faith is not about an outward image.
It is about a life that becomes real.
And perhaps the most important question today is:
what kind of fruit is growing in your life?
