This simple phrase captures who we are at Good News Bible Church. We exist to share the transforming joy that comes only from knowing Jesus Christ—a joy meant for every person, every family, and every community.

Our Mission

We carry out God's mission as one family, created in Jesus Christ our Lord, to be transformed into His holy image and bring people to His knowledge—equipping them for further service to God and people, starting from the Greater Washington area to the ends of the earth.

Our Four Pillars

Everything we do flows from four strategic directions that guide our church family:

Worship

We gather to exalt God through fasting, prayer, and praise. Our worship is not merely a Sunday activity but a lifestyle of honoring the One who gave everything for us.

Fellowship

We build deep, authentic relationships through hospitality and genuine community. As a church family, we do life together—celebrating joys and carrying one another's burdens.

Discipleship

We pursue deep knowledge of God through faithful preaching, teaching, and personal mentoring. Every believer is called to grow and help others grow in their walk with Christ.

Mission

We extend God's love through evangelism, care, and compassionate service. The good news we've received is too precious to keep to ourselves.

Our Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God's Word, fully authoritative and inspired, guiding us in truth and life. It tells the story of God's plan to renew the whole creation through Jesus Christ, and it teaches us how to live as part of that story today.

The Triune God

We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This God is perfectly holy, sovereign, and loving, executing His perfect will to bring about His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He inaugurated God's Kingdom, died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was raised on the third day, and is now reigning until all His enemies are made His footstool.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of grace accessible through faith in Jesus Christ. This faith calls us to repentance, transforms our lives, and invites us into a lifelong journey of following Jesus as Lord and King. All true believers are born again by the Holy Spirit, who continues to help and teach believers throughout their lives to live according to the Gospel truth.

The Church

We believe in the Church, the body of Christ, a community of believers who live out the resurrection life together, striving to reflect the new creation in anticipation of its full realization. We observe the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper as gifts from Christ to strengthen our faith and nourish our spiritual lives.

The Return of Christ

We believe that Jesus is coming back to establish God's Kingdom fully. He will return to judge the living and the dead, bringing justice, reconciliation, and eternal life to those who have embraced Him and righteously judging those who have rejected His reign.

Eternity

We believe in the reality of the new creation, where Heaven and Earth are fully restored under God's rule. The new Heaven and new Earth are the fulfillment of God's promises for redemption and eternal life with all who trust in Jesus.

Our Practices

Baptism

We practice baptism by immersion as an outward declaration of an inward transformation. Those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior by personal faith and publicly profess Him are welcomed for baptism.

The Lord's Supper

We share communion monthly as a community, commemorating Christ's death and anticipating His return. Through the bread and the cup, we remember His sacrifice and proclaim our hope.

Marriage

We uphold the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ's relationship with His Church.
